merrick went in a few weeks ago to have tubes placed in his ears... i would like to say that it worked... well it seemed to have work for a few days, then he was crying about them and pulling at his ears again... we go in on wednesday again to get him checked out...

it was so sad to see him upset in the hospital... he was terrified! i tried to stay as calm as i could... kasey wanted to just take him and run! i'm glad we had it done, i just wish that merrick would feel better.

and as i type, merrick is screaming in the other room cause kasey is drawing him a tub... merrick used to love tub time... now he screams then entire time and i have to hold him in the tub and wash him with a wet towel...

so sad...

so, um i'm way behind... we had merricks bday party earlier this month... at least i'm posting this in the same month as the event right, not that bad!

merrick and his buds had tons of fun! kasey made this race ramp the night before... last minute idea! and it worked out great! we had been collecting, with the help of my mom, match box cars from savers for the kids to play with and take home... they raced down the ramp and played on the track rug that we found at ikea... i remember having one when i was younger and loved it!

thank you betsy for all your help! it was fun having you and the girls here... merrick really misses niki and g.

he has been so good about letting me know that he has to go (i think he does cause he knows he gets a lolly pop)... he likes to sit perched high on his throne... he looks at books and flexes his arms like hulk when he poops. i love that kid!

kasey thought this was just torture and almost didn't had merrick over to santa.. he began screaming when we stepped inside the santa shack in sugar house...
but as for me... i wanted the picture! and besides, the ones of the screaming kids are the best!!! does that make me a bad mom? santa had a hard time holding him... but, on the other had, i don't blame merrick... santa smelt like b.o. and soggy, stale cigarettes.

so my little pal went in to get his shots today... it didn't go as well as merricks... ox cried til we got to the car. poor guy!

he hates his car seat... but sleeps in the car... as long as the car is moving... red lights and stop signs are no longer his friends.

knox was wearing the same aloha suit that merrick wore about a year and a half ago... merrick was about 4 months when we blessed him... the top fit fine, the bottoms we couldn't pour him in to. knox on the other hand, fit the shorts, but was bursting at the buttons around the belly! at about 5 weeks!? knox is our 'el tubbo'.

the scratches, by the way, were done about 10 min before he was blessed... so it made it great for pictures... right? and why not... one didn't want to take pictures, one couldn't sit still and the other was just chillin.... why not. something to look forward too during all family photos...

kasey got out the leaf blower a few weeks ago... merrick loved it. anytime he heard it go on he would run to the door. these leaves were the first round to fall... oh how i love my maple trees!

i guess its a good thing that we no longer have big dogs with big poops in our back yard.... that would have been one stinky merrick... still, some how he had leaves and dirt in his diaper... boys! love em!

i am seriously behind again on my blogging... sorry. oh well...
we have been so busy playing out side, getting the backyard ready for a make over, redoing the garage and the basement, de-cluttering.. again, swimming, taking long walks at sugarhouse park and playing in the garden... you know... my typical nesting routine... oh and smooching the cheeks off this kid! he is our entertainment these days... could you ask for anything more?? i love getting home from work to run around the backyard before dinner and then watch him water my garden (which is growing great again this year!). the pumpkins, squash, tomatoes, green beans, jalapenos, peppercinis and green peppers... mmm i'll be hanging around the cherry tomatoes right mom?!
merrick is growing fast! he had his 18 month check up last week. 23 lbs. and 33 in. tall. he doesn't turn down any food... love it. working on spitting out words, and is very good at communicating unless he is tired... love it. loves the water... love it. naps on the the bottom bunk... love it. loves to be tackled and tickled by mom and dad every night before bed... love it. sings and dances to music... love it. grabs my chin or my cheeks and loves to plant kisses on me then tilts his head to the side, says something in gibberish and flashes his dimples!... love it. hangs out in the garage with dad playing with all the tools... love it. what would i do with out this kid? and soon i get to love on two of them!! thank you kasey!

and since he is growing so fast and they just never knew when i acctually got pregnant cause my body just doesn't like to function properly... they changed my date. it's nice to gain a week with out even trying! around october 13th we'll be meeting this little fellow.

so all i can say that since my trip to hawaii with merrick and the two weeks i spent with out playing on the internet (the internet diet, a great thing) i just would rather spend my time else where... like playing with my little fella, working long hours at work and working my days around my tired achy self with a combo of dry heaving, gagging, barfing and yes, a grumpy ol me... not that i'm complaining... i'm excited to be having another wee one this fall!!

but then i started thinking about my mom... i started this blog mainly for her... so that she could see what we have been up too... and show the kids off to her co workers... so sorry mom... i'll try and be better and send you more photos so long as we get to talk everyday still!

we went to visit grandma helen... like i do every year down in orem. when i lived closer i used to stop by all the time and just lay there on the lawn and chat. i would imagine my kids sitting with her telling her what to tell me and to be happy.
as we were walking back to the truck, merrick turned around and waved to grandmas head stone. he then waved and said 'bye bye'.

this afternoon we had art hour. it was fun! merrick got to use markers for the first time and i thought that he did a very good job. he started out as a lefty... then wanted to hold all the pens. he was having a blast creating this master piece and i love it! even having a little taste of the brown was an event... with a brown line down his lip and chin with a 'chocolate' tongue!

we went sledding the other day at sugarhouse... we found that it was more fun when the slopes were warn from other sledders and a bit icy... we caught more speed and more laughs... i would cause the sled to spin, it scared jord the first time i did and she called me a 'bad driver', but then on the next run she would yell at me to do it again! kasey had to convince both jord and i that it was time to go and that we could come back another time...
i wasn't to sure what merrick thought about it all. he would sort of whine like a puppy on the day down... no smiles... then when we reached the bottom he was all smiles and would try to get the sled to move some more...

it was a good day! anyone want to come with us next time??

wow still in aw. my fella is very mobile. loves to be chased. hide n seek. eats everything! loves milk. still takes two very long naps and sleeps about12 hours every night. loves to show off his dimples. push his tonka cars around. loves to push buttons especially the printer. very talkative. into his books and loves story time before bed. loves to pick on his sister. hides or screams when its time to get dressed. sings to the radio in the car. loves to be on the couch and hang over the back.... loves his bobbys (doggies).

sorry that i have been absent from the blogging scene. things have been a bit crazy here with the holidays and my aching back and neck. also kasey working a ton, plus
i promised myself that i would spend more time with my little fella then on the computer wasting time. with his first birthday in a couple weeks i realized that this past year had gone WAY to fast and that my kitchen could wait. my tv show can wait. that i could fold my laundry after bed time.

anyhoo.

i hope that everyone has a great holiday season! our visit to santa went great. no tears. only a shy jordan and waiting for 15 min. in 28 degree weather to sit on the ol boys lap. these two were stoked!

i love you. i'm glad that you were my loving, wise, talented aunt. with amazing taste, gardening skills and a cooking guru. you were always welcoming, gentle and fun. one of the most lovable women that i know! i loved spending my summers at your house... eating wonderful treats... playing with the animals... making memories with cousins... playing at the dunes... sneaking your pickled beans and jams out of the cellar... looking at old family photos and hearing stories... i feel like i had a life full of memories but yet had a sleepless night thinking of all that i thought i had missed out on. but had just come to the conclusion that i was very lucky. very lucky to have you as my aunt.

merrick has a new place that he likes to play.. the laundry basket. it all started long ago when i would go down to the basement to do the laundry. me, the multi-tasker, would empty the dryer in the basket plop merrick on top of the pile and he would ride up the stairs in the load... he loves it! smiling and laughing the whole time... but tonight after dinner i put him on the floor to go play and before i knew it he was inside the empty basket. so we decided to go for a 'drive' around the house...

he was laughing hysterically! i love moments like that! then i decided to play basket ball... i would make them in, he would pass them back... one more thing that he is totally good at these days! then when he was ready to get out he would rock the basket to the side to crawl his way out.

i love this kid.

halloween 2009

sorry these took so long to get up... but you know how it goes... we had tons of fun! paka was here... started out doing a corn maze... came home, we all dressed up, turned the orange lights on out side and walked over to the stoddards house for the hot dog roast. trick or treated around the neighborhood... cotton candy at the dewals... hot chocolate at the denisons... very fun night!

jordan was a vampire... she has been talking about being one since about march of this year... she had a blast... and loaded up on tons of candy... which i proudly raided after she went to bed... come on what parent doesn't do that?? jord had a hard time keeping those fangs in due to the fact that she has not front teeth... meaning three on top are gone... but man, it looks like all six anterior teeth are missing!

this fire breathing diaper wearing dragon is merrick! for the last month he has been wearing his dragon legs around the house, he loves them! every time he sees the costume hanging in the closet he races right over to it and has a huge grin as he watches me take it down and put it on him!
kasey had been a lumber jack the night before at a party we attended. ax, spenders & flannel... oh my! he fit the part to a T. but when we went out halloween night around the neighborhood he decided to go with the biker beard.
my pops was here! i think that it is becoming tradition to have my parents here for halloween... i seriously don't mind! pops was the devil... yeah right, no evil plots going on here... but we did joke about my dad wearing no shirt with only the sequenced bow tie (shown here) in a photo shoot for my moms xmas present... mom watch in the mail for your chip n dales portfolio.

and then there is me... dork... at work we dressed up as flies in our department and one of the guys dressed up as a turd... ha ha we got most creative though! later that night i was cleopatra. head to toe... beaded head piece, arm and wrist cuffs... gown and sandals for the party... but like my other half... wig did just fine while out with the kids... good call though cause it kept my head warm!

merrick is 9 months?

wow, so this little fella is 9 months! it blows my mind! well it blows my mind everyday... i guess that will never get old. this morning i took the fella in for his 9 month check up... he was all smiles with the doc and was flirting with the nurses... ham.

so here are his stats...

weight... 17 lbs 10 oz (8 percentile)

length... 29 in. (71 percentile)

head... 45.5 cm (52 percentile)

now this is a boy of many toys! he loves them! and if he doesn't have a basket of toys there in front of him he will make his way over to the shoe rack or the books on the floor of the office. i guess that it wouldn't just be the toys he loves... the basket is a major toy as well. he removes all the toys after a while and we will come in to find that he has all but his knees and feet sticking out of the basket.

his new things... calling out for 'mama' when he has pooped his pants.

pulling the plug at the end of his tub. promptly giving kisses when mom says 'give mommy kisses' but when daddy asks he just pats his check. army crawling everywhere but on the hardwood floor. falls asleep at bed and for naps all on his own and the only thing that wakes him up... the toilet. has four teeth. has gotten one hair cut, well trim, already. talks and talks! is fascinated with the blow dryer and will come right next to me so that he can get 'blowed on'. shakes his head for no, biggest smile in the world for yes! he chats anytime he is in the car. loves bugs and will try and pinch ants when he finds them. holds up his star when you ask 'where is twinkle twinkle?' points at the trees only when the leaves are blowing in the wind.

his new love... food! mainly fruits like avocado and cantaloupe. loves a whole slice of bread with out the crust and will devour ravioli!

has it really been almost three weeks since i lasted posted something?? sorry about that...
we have been busy...

mainly this guy...
two weeks ago he had a nasty fever that lasted 5 days! the highest... 103.8! but during the late mornings and afternoons he would get down to about 100.6. it was so sad... he was really cuddly, wouldn't eat that well, and sleep? what sleep? we felt so bad for him... found out that he had a major sore throat... and getting two more teeth.
then he got a major snotty nose and cough... with some nasty gala galas.
two days ago he woke up from a nap with a popped vessel in his right eye (in photo above) that quickly turned the white of his eye bloody red. so now gets meds for that and today looks tons better!
but through it all he has still been his playful, happy, laughing self! in fact yesterday i caught him army crawling around the living room!

some of my cousins came over for amish cake and ice cream the night before we left... it was so much fun to hang out... it has been so long since i have seen most of them... and i got to meet all of their kids too!

this is my moms brother jack and my aunt jeanie... love them to death! thank you for letting us come and stay at your house... i love it there... and love hanging out and hearing stories. miss you guys!...

yellowstone

old faithful was cool... when we got there we still had some time to kill so we went over to the lodge and grabbed a bite to eat. out on the deck we sat for about an hour waiting... it's hard to believe that this thing shoots over 300 feet in the air out of a 4 inch diameter hole. and its crazy hot water too! pretty cool to see.
these hot springs were everywhere... but this one by far was the prettiest. if it wasn't hot enough to boil me like a cornish hen in 5 seconds i would have jumped in... inviting isn't it??

right off the bat when we entered the park we saw a herd of cow elk... pretty neat. they really don't care that you are there... we also saw a buffalo, bald eagle and tons of geese. all in all our trip was great... i wish that we could have done more traveling in yellowstone... but with two whiny kids it was time to get back...

the deer hunt opened yesterday. i was expecting to be a widow for the rest of the year but... this year didn't pan like that past ones. kasey called this morning (he goes just up east canyon, about a 15 min drive from the house) and said that he got his deer...
he was walking down the mountain to give up for the morning and this guy crossed his path. 20 feet away with his bow. the mans was stoked! last year he wasn't able to get up there that often plus i was large with child... the year before that it was the last day of the hunt he came home with elliot... literally elliot the one antlered deer from open season!

and the folks... still shocked that mom touched it... betsy may not like that!

so kasey sets up the target to pratice his draw and to set his sights on his bow before the hunt. he sets up and shoots up our driveway. its 20 yards to the gate... then heads across the street up the neighbors driveway for longer distances... my pops was totally into watching him so we got out my bow... cause it has less pounds to draw back and he would be able to do it... let me tell you... he loved it!
he did pretty well for his first time... check out the bulls eye...

these two get along so well. bent likes it when merrick comes to play. but then again what dog doesn't like merrick! every saturday morning when merrick is in laying with us, kona and gage get up on the bed to say good morning where slobbery kisses are exchanged.

bent kept rolling in to his space... he must have been just getting him back for pulling his ears. i'm surprised that bent let him get away with all the tugging and pulling, he won't even let me braid his beard!

two fishing trips this week!

we have been trying to beat the heat and get out of the city... our first trip we took was just up to east canyon... it really wasn't beating the heat...

it was only 2 degrees cooler... oh well, it was still fun to get out and play in the water!

merrick loved being out in the sun and swimming! thats right... i only raise water babies! he was so into kasey getting his rod ready and casting out from the shore.

we didn't catch anything but it was still fun.

our second fishing trip we took the boat up to strawberry res. this was merricks first time on the boat... he hated the life vest at first, he looked like the marshmellow puff guy with a neck brace on... but he was stoked to get it taken off for bum changes... he pretty much just layed there and played with jord, his toy and even took a good nap...

we caught one fish (that we could actually take home) merrick was so into it...

he would cuddle it if he could!

poor kid! we were going to jump in the water on the way back to the dock but some clouds rolled in and it got cold... so merrick, jord and i were pretty bummed. thats what we get for waiting i guess.

getting ready for bed the other night i decided to get some pictures of him reading his books. we do tub, pjs, books, songs and then a 'snack'... but i just love that he is into his books and holding them now. paka... this next picture is for you....

for the last week merrick hasn't been sleeping that well. he was waking up almost every hour... not wanting to eat in the morning before i head off to work... it was hard... i was sleeping like 3-4 hours a night and working 8-9 hours... i was crabby, tired and had a headache all week!
so we figured that maybe he was going through a growth spurt and thought that he just needed to eat more during the day. so yesterday he ate three jars of food plus three 5 oz bottles and nursed twice... he went to bed at 8pm and slept til 8am only waking up once. and it was also the first night that i didn't bundle him.

so he got to sleep... i got to sleep... kasey got to sleep...

we were all happy!

this is what he look liked come 6pm all week... i'm so happy that he got to sleep... he has been one happy kid all day today and i know why.

so the other day kasey was over at his friends house putting polymer on the bottom of his airboat when the electric block plane kicked back and 'swallowed' his finger. this is what it looked like after the doctor stitched it up... 18 stitches!

it pretty much ran up his finger, ripped the nail off and left it looking like a canoe! there was blood splatter on the garage wall and blood all over kasey's shoes and shorts. the man never cried or yelled... i think there was a few cuss words thrown out there though... after he got done with the doctors he went back the finish the boat...

my fella is growing fast! he is sitting by himself... very talkative (mam, dada)... always smiling... loves tub time and sitting in his pool. is a great sleeper with the aid of his passy. oh and is trying to push out his first two teeth! i'm so in love with my guy. i wish that i could be with him all the time!

these shots yesterday made him a bit sick though. this morning he woke up with a fever of 102.5 but we were able to get it down with some tylenol. when i last checked him he was 101.4... i hope that he starts feeling better. at least this afternoon he ate. i will say though that it was fun to stay home with him and nap. i love my cuddly guy, he wouldn't sleep today unless he could have his had on me... once i moved he was up.

we've been busy!

sorry we have been busy... we have had some visitors!

my sister betsy, kris and little niki came to stay for just over a week.

it was so fun! i miss being able to hang out with my sister, so it was nice to have her and company here for a bit!we did so much stuff...boondocks... oquirrh mountain temple... the zoo sunday afternoon for a few hours... it was fun... but so hot. we thought that we would get there early to beat the crowd and the heat... but still got both...

on the way out we found a hose over by the camels and kasey started hosing us... until someone cried.

we also had the chance to hangout with these two handsome devils... rockwell and ezra my cousin amy's twins. man they have grown up fast! i better enjoy my pint size fella while he is still small... soon he will be crawling and that is a whole new exercise for me!

thanks again mitch and amy for letting us come over to see you guys! we had tons of fun... we should get together again soon!

it was fun to have the kosi's here for the fourth... we had a bbq (kris did carne ascada ) with ben and janzell tutor... we walked over to sugarhouse park to watch the fireworks... and then came home and played settlers of catan (geeky i know... but seriously addicting!)

i love this little munchkin! i love it when she yells auntie from the back of the car... slaps your butt as she walks by... splashes water at the dogs off the deck so that they jump high to try and catch it in their mouths... plays with dora on the floor and thinks that merrick is going to take her toys while laying on his belly three feet away (gogo gadget arms!)... and i love her laugh... singing... and her pickle breath.

totally bummed yesterday... the power was out at my house so i had no idea until my mom called me crying... the girls in the moffat family really like this guy and his music. i remember i cleaned the whole house once to earn his 'history' album. i remember standing in line for over 4 hours, with my mom and betsy, to buy tickets to his history concert on new years day... which was the most amazing concerts i have ever been too! we came home with shirts, pins, posters and even a book.

i mean really, who didn't know the lyrics to his songs, the moves to thriller or smooth criminal? come on, this guy had talent... he is the king of pop!

i love to eat... everything! but peas... me no likey. my favorite is prunes, carrots and sweet potatoes.

i love being on my tummy and now doing push ups. mom and dad cheer me on and sing 'in the army now'...

i sat by myself today... it only lasted about 10 seconds before i fell over, but i did it!

and i hold my own bottle now while i am laying on my back.

so lately fella has been so into watching us. watching how we pick stuff up, how we eat... it is amazing... i bet the wheels in his mind are going a mile an hour. i think that is great! he loves to watch his hands, grab things around him, and watch simpsons and for those in utah that watch fox 13 news, kerri cronk. it is hard to feed him when she is on... he loses all focus!

he loves to spend time on his belly lately and has figured out how to pull his knees up under him... i think that i am going to have to baby proof fairly soon here!

he still has to be bundled at night... we tried with out but he put up a fight... and i found that he sleeps better if i take him out side for even a couple minutes right before i put him down... it is his time to feel the breeze, listen to the birds chirping, watch the sprinklers and pat the dogs on their heads.

fella is seriously all laughs! he will even just lay and laugh at the movements he makes with his own hands. last night we had him going for about 5 minutes straight all kasey was doing was moving his stuffed animal back and forth. i love my fella... like kasey said last night, you could have the worst day but he makes it all better. everything is worth it. i think that is true for everyone!

i sit one my moms lap somtimes while she eats and i have been totally interested in what she has been eating. i stick my hands in her food and pull the plate to me... i think that she didn't really want to share her big people food with me so she got me this really yummy stuff called bananas and some other stuff called rice cereal! yum! i'm going to try applesauce next mmmmm!

yay for mommas!

it was a year today that we found out we were having a baby!

my mom went home this morning... sucks...

i'm so glad that she was here for the last week... it was so much fun, she even spent the days with merrick... and got to know him... it's such a bummer living so far apart... she promised that she would come out a couple times a year, but it will never be enough. we have become close in our old age. xoxo momma, and thank you for the card. it made me cry.

it was a great day! i was woken up with flowers and a card from my boys (even a scribble from a pen kasey helped merrick hold)... kasey cooked three meals, helped me plant some flowers... went for a walk at sugarhouse park, and let me use all the hot water in a 15 min long shower.

it was lovely. did i just say lovely? thank you kasey for all you do. i love you sooo much and i hope that you know that!

yay, paka is here for a visit! merrick was all smiles when he first met his paka...

we went up to my cousin shawns house in north ogden yesterday for a bbq...

all of my pops siblings and their kids showed up.

we had so much fun! it has been almost 8 years since i have seen most of them!

sorry for being so behind on the henderson notes...

but here are a couple things that happened over the weekend.

the weather was soooo nice we were outside all weekend... jord and i even got dad to play hop scotch with us!
so what are hendersons known for doing almost every saturday? the hogle zoo...

muki the gorilla died the other tuesday, i think, so it was a good thing that we went on saturday to go and see her.

merrick slept the whole time... but when it came time to eat...

the train decided to go by... meaning the bench that i was sitting on was stuck in a crowd of people standing on either side of the tracks waiting for the gates to go back up! so, we had some company for lunch!

and we stopped at sugarhouse park on sunday to feed the geese...

today was my first day back at work. it was so hard! i woke up this morning at 5:15am and started getting ready for work... at 6 my little man woke up with nothing but smiles! i got him fed and ready to go... he was still awake when we got to the sitters house at 6:30... i hugged him and kissed him and loved him all over, wrapped him up and laid him in his pack n play, and went to work...

it seemed like it took for ever to get to work... i got there at 7am and went straight to my desk and plastered it with pictures of my little heart throb to stare at all day!

it was so hard not being with him... i worked as fast as i could and was out of there by 3pm. i raced over to get him... man i missed my fella!

he did great today at the sitters... slept, ate and smiled.

i can't wait for saturday... please come fast!

merrick has quite the explosive personality these days...

(poor guy has baby acne cause mommy eats too much dairy... sorry, working on that son...)

he and i take his second nap together in my bed before daddy comes home from work to wake us up... when he does merrick wakes up with a smile like he usually does (except today... a bit grumpy). he loves flashing those dimples... one day i'll catch it on film... one good looking kid! the best is when he smiles in his sleep... and even lets out a chuckle with it!

and he also does a blue steal look from zoolander (the puckered lips) when he is getting ready to fut & poop... then once this task is completed he laughs and smiles at himself...

which brings me to this photo... kasey was holding him yesterday after work, when merrick started to get real fussy. i took him thinking he needed a bum change and when i was getting to it i noticed this...

yeah...

i called kasey in to check the damage, he started checking his own shirt for damage!
don't worry, we got it all cleaned up, and dad is going to be okay...

where does the time go? all little koa and i have been doing is eat, sleep, eat and sleep some more... well at least he does. i try to sleep but i still feel like i have tons to do... oh well... i'm beginning to understand the power of sleep. i just wish that it wasn't so cold and wet outside... koa and i need to get out of these four walls. maybe we'll go for a drive today when daddy gets home.
i love this photo up top, he looks like his head is an orange on a tooth pick! don't worry, he is very proportioned! and once again, take his cloths off and he stops crying...

he is still such a little guy, but i'm guessing that he gained a pound this last week. yay 8 pounds, we'll see...

my little man is just over three weeks old! i can't believe it, it seems like he has been around a lot longer then that! my how time flies... i love being home with him and staring at him just check out the world. i wonder what he thinks?

he had his first big boy tub this week... i tell you what, this little guy loves being naked...
could this spell trouble?
he also on his tummy time on monday surprised us and rolled over to his back!

he was having a fit earlier this week when he was put in his car seat... we were on our way over to kaseys dad's house and the car suddenly fell silent. when we got to the house and lifted the blanket this is what we found. lights out! he was fussing and moving around so much that his beenie worked it way down over his eyes and mouth... good thing he can breathe out of his mouth!

okay, so nevermind that merrick is almost three weeks old, i just haven't had anytime to get online to post about it... i've been having to much fun being his mother, and
spending time with mine.
lifes been a major whirl these past three weeks and i'm glad that i have been right in the middle of it. merrick wakes me at the same time every night... 12am, 3am and 6am. he is a great eater, cries only when he is gassy, and carries my mothers deep dimples and my fathers butt chin. he falls asleep on his own in his crib, but somehow sneaks out and is found sleeping on dads chest watching hunting.

last night we went to the draper temple open house. it was great... the last open house that i had been too was mt. timpanogos. the draper temple was beautiful! i can't wait til it is open for temple work. i'm glad that my mom was able to come with us and that merrick slept the whole time and only woke as we were walking to the car...

thank you mom for coming out and helping me. i really enjoy when you come to visit. i miss you so much and feel jealous of my siblings that have you everyday. i'm sad that you had to go home today.

my mommy cried when she met me.
i don't think that she thought that she could love a 'little' someone sooo much!

my daddy and mommy were so tired when i got here. they had been at the hospital for 26 hours already. my mommy had to be induced cause i was taking to long.

my sister jordan is really cool too.
she likes to hold me and just giggles the whole time!

well, he is still in there! only two days left!

i have spent about 3/4 of 2008 pregnant....
they are planning to induce me on the 29th if the little man hasn't come by then...
my mom comes on saturday the 27th... is he holding out til then?

we went to visit santa at 'this is the place' and to see the zoo lights. both great! i recommend them both this year!

one thing i remember about christams as a kid was mom giving betsy and i the sears catalog and us looking at every detail on every single page and then writing it down on our long christmas lists.

hey, it's not all me i swear, its the turkey dinner! what do you think of kaseys art work? he thought that it might be a bit inappropriate to put a bulls eye on the turkey but you know that if it wasn't on "the boy" he would have! "the boy" was loving it... as the marker would more across the belly he would roll with it and kick here and there. it was cute! that's how father and son bond these days i guess.

sorry once again for the lack of posting...
not much is going on here... just getting stuff together
and trying not to over do it like kasey says i do.

but please can any one tell me if they, when nearing the end, just had a bit of a crying breakdown?
i had one the other night in the tub. the doc said that "the boy" could came anytime now and he would be fine, and that it is normal and that just sort of got to me....
i began thinking of the labor... and wished that i could just twitch my nose and i would be holding "the boy".
then i started thinking about my post prego body... i can't even remember what life was like before the belly. am i going to miss it?
and then there is the getting away with eating anything at anytime... i'm going to miss that.
but one thing that i am looking forward too, sleeping on my belly.
i don't know, "the boy" and i just have this special bond already... even so with the daily hickups... i'm going to miss toting him around like this.

sorry no picture... i'm just rambling today. okay?

jo lost her first tooth yesterday!she had been bugging kasey for weeks now to pull it out... but it was just not ready. yesterday i think the idea of being all grown up and loosing that first tooth was all she could think about... plus
one whole dollar from the tooth fairy... jo went into the bathroom and soon came running out with the tooth in a peice of toilet paper! she said that she just went in, tugged and it was out!
no blood... she was stoked! so were we!

that my internet was down.... that i am busy nesting and don't really care to call the guy to come fix it... that kasey is gone hunting again... that the tv is busted... but i am too busy nesting to care... what gives?

i did how ever get to my utah edition of my 10 year reunion from graduating from kahuku high school... last sunday... sorry, i'm just not on top of things these days... other than nesting.

i have noticed that this year kasey has not spent to much time out bow hunting... which is unusual... i think thats cause one, i'm a bit on the pregnant side and can't get out there with him... our tags are just sitting on the counter... and two is that he's gone fowl.

i mean, well he has been a member of a duck club out east of the airport for years now and also this year he has started his own goose hunting guide service on the side and has been going to wyoming and up north and well i let him go this past weekend and this what he 'collected'. he is totally in to this...um... so these last couple posts have been of kasey i just realized... sometimes i get the feeling that he thinks that i just don't share enough of him...

kasey you make me laugh til i pee my pants...

it's not everyday that i get to witness this side of you, but i'm so glad that i do!so last night we had the phantom ghost visit our house and he left some yum sugar cookies and a note telling us to keep the halloween spirit and phantom some other house in the neighborhood. so tonight we got a basket filled it with a grip of candy, made a sign and yaddy yaddy yadda...

and i told kasey that he was going to have to pick a house and take it over...
cause you have to door bell ditch and i ain't ditchin...
so i sent kasey out against his will
he walked a couple doors down as i watched out the window...
i instantly started laughing when i watched him honeslty tip toe up on to the porch...
gently set the treats down...
tap on the door...
then turn and book it out of there...
i didn't see him come around the car so i thought that he fell...
then i heard the bushes rustle...
and kasey come bursting over them with a huge grin on his face!
meanwhile i am dieing laughing trying to stay on my feet...
kasey runs through the door puffing and spying out the window as our 2 year old neighbor and her mom are out looking at the goodies.

so i came across this book at the bookstore back home and kasey and i have been reading it... i thought that it might be fun to share bits of it through out the rest of the year and when the boy gets here... we giggle.

here are the five important keys...

turning a boy into a man is a man's job. since the begining of time, it's been up to a father to make his son responsible. kind. courageous. honorable.

sorry i haven't been blogging lately...
with trying to finish the office/the boys room we have been busy.
with that comes rewiring the computer from one side othe house to the other...
meaning kasey in the crawl space in the basement...
mudding, taping, painting, moving furniture...
and then finally getting the computer hooked up and finding out that i have missed 487 new posts on my google reader... i'm sorry for neglecting you all :)

remember this? so this is jos old room that is connected to ours. after finishing her new room and moving her to the other side of the house last christmas, we were able to start working on the office... and this past may found out that we were having a new addition, we had to get it really get it done. so we tackled it this past weekend.

so anyway, it turned into this...

wow, i just can't believe that jo turned 6 yesterday!

she is growing up way, way, way, to fast!she has figured out 'the mirror'. any mirror, or anything that gives a reflection, she has noticed. i catch her posing, playing with her hair, dancing, blowing kisses and well just talking to herself.

cuddler. she still has to have her cozy time with dad on the couch and give everyone a hug before she goes anywhere.

sweet talker. she can get anyone to do anything, especially grandma mary. the rest of us are on to her. and when we have her just about figured out, we'll have to start all over again!

drama queen. she can cry on demand, laugh on demand... and has a wild teenage imagination. i'm scared, she tries to get me to have girl talk with her to talk about boys. i get her to stop but i laugh every time.

miss independent. never mind trying to help her with something, she'll put up a fight and do it herself until its done, or she gets frustrated and walks away.

strong. she can take kasey down with her big guns. throws some good punches, kicks your butt, and loves to laugh about it. i like it cause she comes in handy when it's time to carry the grocery's in, and dad likes it cause she just flat out amazes him.

in the past couple days people have finally been giving me the 'you're pregnant' smile and a hug... or people coming over to my desk to chat about the wee fetus... and i just have to laugh... cause i would have done the same thing... first questioning if 'so and so' is indeed pregnant for a month or two to myself to save me from the embarrassment of 'excuse me, i just had a big lunch'...that would suck...

so now, the word is out at work, and it was the boy in my belly that told.

so i have a few more belly pictures from hawaii that my sister betsy and mom took that i just love.

she may be small

but she has a huge personality.

my little penelope has found her little spot in the valley of my pregnancy. every time i have her out she snuggles right in. i love it! she'll ride along there the whole time she is out and even after an hour nap i'll wake to find she is still there! i hope that i don't squash her one of these days!

a moms proud moment

okay, so its been a while since i have blogged,
sorry... been relaxing!
but now we are back in the desert and
trying to pick up our lost daily routine...
i'll up dated you all on our trip in pictures when i get them all together...
but until then i really need to share something with you...usually when i fly i say little prayer as the plane takes off...
as we were 'taxiing' to the run way in hawaii on our way back
i noticed kasey saying a little prayer (he hates to fly).
jord asked what he was doing, i told her and she just sat there
and watched him.
a couple minutes later i heard some whispering, i thought that she
was just talking to kasey but looked over anyway.
she had her arms folded and eyes closed saying a little
prayer of her own.
i motioned to kasey to check her out...
he got this big grin on his face and just sat there and watched
her until she was done.
i loved it.

until we are on a plane bound for 'my' island!

i'm so stoked to be able to go home for a couple of weeks...
i miss my family tons being out here in ootah.
i just wish that i would be able to surf this time around.
maybe i'll sneak in a few waves. don't tell the doc...

or kasey!i know this picture is not what you would think from hawaii... but i really remember doing this when i was like 12 right after hurricane iniki with all the rubbish that rolled up on the beach. among doing this, digging large holes to play in, putting crabs in my dads piko (bellybutton), body surfing and pretty much bringing the beach home with me in my suit when i was a kid... i am soooo glad that i grew up in hawaii! i wouldn't have had it any other way! after i took kasey out there the first time he told me that now he understands why i am the way i am and why i'm always telling him that i'm on hawaiian time. never in a hurry, and always late! i love it!
